An early Victorian three-piece tea service
of compressed moulded circular form and on rocaille-chased domed circular bases, each chased with rococo flowers and foliage incorporating C-scroll and stylised shell cartouches with presentation inscriptions and each with an elaborate applied floral and foliate everted rim, the teapot with fluted and chased leaf-capped rising curved spout, foliate-decorated scroll handle and chased domed hinged cover with flower finial, the gilt-lined milk jug and sugar basin with floral and foliate-decorated scroll handles, maker's initials I.W., London 1839 - height of teapot 7in. (17.75cm.), 54.75oz.
