A Chinese circular inkstick carved with mythical beasts among flowersprays and cloud scrolls below three characters 'Shui Jing Zhai', the reverse with a pavilion in a fenced rocky garden -- 4¾in. (12cm) diam, three character mark.
Inscribed to one side 'the reflection in water is pure'. One side with the inscription 'Jiaqing dian zhi' (made during the reign of Jiaqing, 1796-1820).
