An Art Nouveau biscuit barrel with matching smaller preserve jar, each pierced with naturalistic forms and with scroll handles, fitted with clear glass liners with star-cut bases, the domed detachable covers engraved with crests and initials and applied with Japanese ivory spherical okimonos, one carved with numerous figures, the other with the three wise monkeys, the ivory finials with detachable plated mounts, the jars and covers maker's initials H.B.& S., Birmingham 1907 and H.& A., Birmingham 1909 - 7¾in.
