the breakarch case with foliate cast finials to the angles, Corinthian columns to the front and arched lozenge-pierced sound frets to the sides below carrying handles, on bracket feet, with stiff leaf cast door frame, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring and matted centre, foliate spandrels, chime/silent and Cambridge/Eight bells regulation rings in the arch, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, chimes on nine bells and hour strike on gong, pull repeat, with pendulum holdfast to the elaborately engraved backplate and conforming decoration to the pendulum -- 19¼in. (48.5cm.) high
