with enclosed turntable compartment, double-spring Motor of Quality, Columbia No.8 soundbox on straight tapered tone arm and cygnet-pattern horn with jappaned copper bell, in mahogany case with flat three-quarters width lid, chequer-stringing and brass Royal Coat- of-Arms medallion to the front, brass acorn finials to the top and a similar brass medallion in the horn mouth -- 46in.(170cm.) high overall, circa 1925, sold with a photograph of the original owner (maker?) standing beside the gramophone
