A 19th-Century mahogany domestic medicine chest,
the double doors with compartments for six bottles and opening to reveal a shelf of five bottles, one long drawer and four other drawers, one containing a glass pestle and mortar, another two jars with silver-plated tops, and three smaller bottles, the drawer below containing a cauteriser, a glass syringe, four bottles and other items, the rear with 'poison' compartment containing five bottles, three with original labels, with inset brass carrying handle -- 13¾in. (35cm.) high
