The Bullers studio was established in 1932, running alongside the industrial production of insulators until 1952. The need for a fully equiped laboratory, for the production of the insulators, and an interest in contemporary studio pottery led the factory to experiment and recreate celadon, crackle, flambe and other Chinese glazes. Bullers ware was exhibited at the 1935 Exhibition of British Art and in 1937 at the Paris International Exhibition.
