A large Chinese blue and white baluster jar painted with a continuous scene of children at play in a fenced garden among plantain, pine and rockwork variously riding a hobby horse, seated at tables, being pulled along in carts, wheeling toys and at other pursuits, the shoulder with cartouches of peach sprays on a hatch pattern ground, the neck with stylised scrolling foliage -- 16½in. (42cm) high, (body with slight pitting, glaze chips to rim).
