A Corinthian pottery aryballos, the spherical body on flat base, decorated with a frieze showing a Siren with female head and bird-shaped body, large wings outspread and walking to the right, behind her a swan, the rest of the field closely infilled with rosettes, details incised and in added purple, tongues around the shoulder and wide rim of the mouth, dots at its edge -- 4.3.4in. (12.2cm.) high, circa 600-590 B.C.
