Twelve Persian manuscript folios on paper, with illustrations in Persian 16th century style, seven from the same manuscript 25ll. black nasta'liq in four columns, green and gold margins between black rules, headings in red across two columns, with part-page miniatures in gouache heightened with gold of Rustem and other Shahnameh scenes - folio 13½ x 9½in. (33.7 x 24.2cm.); three from another manuscript - 12¾ x 7in. (32.5 x 17.8cm.); and three others similar - largest 12¾ x 9in. (32.6 x 22.9cm.), illustrations probably late 19th century on earlier folios
