Peter Biegel started his artistic career after a chance meeting with Lionel Edwards shortly after the Second World War. After serving in the War he was envolved with his father's Steel broking business which he left to persue art. From 1947 onwards painting became Biegel's life and livelihood. In 1950 the Royal Academy exhibited his painting 'The Winter Game', and in the same year he held the first of his one man shows at Rowland Ward, which was followed by others at the Tryon Gallery. His love for the country and sporting activities helped him to perfect his art and to build himself a reputation as one of the finest sporting artist's of his generation.
