Lot Essay

A GOOD COPY of the official record of the newly rebuilt buildings at Montecatini, one of the most famous thermal springs in Italy. They were rebuilt between 1774 and 1784 to the neo-classical designs of Poaletti at the expense of Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Tuscany and the Benedictines of the Badia in Florence.
