Lot Essay

Huttich describes the Roman antiquities in and around Mainz. The inscriptions were originally assembled by Dietrich Gresemund, and are dedicated to Theoderich Zobel, Vicar-General of Cardinal Albrecht of Brandenburg. They are printed in letterpress, with woodcut borders depicting the tombs and monuments.
