An 18th Century lidded tankard
with later-added spout, on a rising circular foot and with a moulded body band and rim, double scroll handle and domed hinged cover with openwork scroll finial, one side engraved with an initial within an elaborate trelliswork, shell and foliate cartouche, the other side engraved with a crest, the marks obliterated, struck with a London Assay Office case number 6644 - 7½in. (19cm.)
