A Japanese six-fold screen painted in sumi, gofun and colour on paper with a continuous scene depicting figures harvesting a field of corn before boys picking fruit from laden trees, figures variously tying the corn in bundles, transporting it by boat, foot and horseback towards a pavilion with a family seated on a terrace watching two entertainers with puppets, further figures before them sorting, pounding, sifting and packing the grain in wooden barrels, all in a mountainous pine strewn landscape with cranes and geese in flight -- each leaf 59¾in.x 23¼in. (151.7cm.x 59cm.), one leaf detatched, old damage.)
