A French violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume labelled Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume à Paris/3 rue Demours-Ternes and numbered 2887 on the inside back; the two-piece back of medium curl, the ribs similar, the scroll a replacement, the table of medium grain, the varnish of an orange gold colour, the length of back 14 1/16in. (35.6cm), in case with two bows stamped Paesold and Knoll respectively
