A boulle alarm bracket timepiece
inlaid with brass, pewter, and tortoiseshell on a faded green-stained bone ground, the moulded cushion top surmounted by a bronze group of Alexander and Bucephalus, with urn and spire finials to the angles, foliate engraved sound frets to the sides, on bun feet, the square gilt-brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, foliate engraving and alarm disc to centre, sliding rear door, the twin chain fusee movement with converted anchor escapement, alarm on three bells and pull quarter repeat on two; movement associated to case, Italian, circa 1700 -- 19¾in. (50cm.) high
