the foliate cut-brass inlaid ebonised case with balustraded pediment surmounted by the figure of an angel blowing a trumpet, with flambeau urn finials to the angles, caryatids trailing flowers to the angles, glazed front with relief cast mount depicting Cupid flanked by women holding scythe and pen respectively, on dragon feet, the repoussée dial with individual white enamel Roman chapters (XI lacking) and engraved Arabic five minutes to the outside, the later twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell to pediment, stamped LAGARDE A PARIS on the backplate -- 31in.
