the hexagonal case surmounted by an urn and with floral bouquet finials, with polychrome enamel pilasters to the angles, painted porcelain panels depicting ladies to the front sides, on leaf cast bun feet, the dial with gilt chapter ring with black-painted Arabic numerals, with enamel centre and bezel, the twin barrel movement with strike on gong, stamped for JAPY FRÈRES to the backplate -- 15¾in. (39.5cm.) high; and the pair of side vases en suite the tapering oviform porcelain bodies painted with courting couples -- 14¼in. (36.5cm.) high; French, circa 1900
