Lot Essay

The scientist Johann Baptist Obernetter (1840-1887) studied photography under Professor Kayser and opened his own studio. From the 1860s-80s he worked on chemical processes in plate-making and photogravure and invented the Lichtkupferdruk process a year before his death.
