Details
A tapering oviform vase with short quatrefoil neck, painted and gilt with a shaped panel depicting musicians, dancers and officials before a temple, the reverse with a cockerel, hen and chicks beside flowers and rockwork on the banks of a river, the panels connected by stylised flowers on a Y-pattern ground, all within bands of chidori above foaming waves, a multitude of butterflies and insects and a variety of flowers including chrysanthemums, irises, lilies and peonies -- 4¾in. (12cm.) high, sealed Kinkozan.
