A pair of square tapering vases with short everted necks and slightly spreading feet, painted and gilt with panels of ladies at leisure on riverbanks and before retreats alternating with Kannon and rakan in rocky landscapes, all on geometric and butterfly pattern grounds -- 6in. (15.2cm.) high, signed Hattori, (one with a section from neck broken and restuck.)
