A lamp globe 10½-inch diameter, made up of twelve printed and coloured paper gores laid over a transluscent sphere, with north polar hour circle, trade routes shown in red, various comments recorded such as "detached north pole, Peary 1909 sledge; Byrd 1926 airplane; Amundsen 1926 dirigible", the axis mounted through the head and tail of a copperised-metal stylised dolphin with wave-form base, incorporating an electrical illumination attachment, on oak plinth base -- 14½-inches (36.8cm.) high
