The drum-shaped case with engine-milled dial and black painted Roman chapters within a foliate cast bezel, supported and centred by an open fluted scroll, modelled with unfurling anthemion and acanthus leaves, and leafy tendrils cast with rosettes below a stiff-leaf wrapped bud finial, the rectangular plinth applied to the front and sides with a frieze of further acanthus leaves above a stepped gallery cast with peacock plumes, on scrolling bracket feet, the twin going barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on a bell
