A Japanese six fold screen painted in sumi, gofun, colour and gilt on silk depicting three Heian courtiers seated on the terrace of a pavilion before screens decorated with pine and blossoming trees, lacquer trays before them, the pavilion set in a garden with a bridge crossing a meandering river among pine, blossoming prunus and stylised gilt painted clouds -- each panel 59in. x 22½in. (149.8cm x 57cm), 18th century, (old wear, areas of soiling).
