A pair of Japanese six fold screens painted in sumi, gofun and colour on silk with birds on suspended perches, lanterns, porcelain vases, baskets, jardinieres and hanging baskets of peonies, chrysanthemums, irises, peacock feathers, coral, flowers and foliage and further baskets and dishes of lychee, grapes, finger citron and other fruits -- each panel 56½in. x 20in. (143.5cm x 50.8cm), signed Kien Shijin and sealed, 18th century, (old wear, areas of water damage and soiling).
