A pair of Chinese high fired pottery models of equestrian musicians
each moustacheod figure seated on a saddled horse standing four square on a rectangular base, the horse's heads turned slightly to the left, one with its mouth open, the figures wearing tabbed hats and long flowing tunics tied at the waists, one holding a pipe with both hands and the other with clenched fists, one horse in red pigments with black saddle and the other white with black saddle and bridle -- 13.in (33cm) high, Tang Dynasty, (one horse's ear with small chip, drum missing from one musician).

It is unusual to find pottery groups of this type intact. This pair probably came from preserved a dry tomb. (2)
