U.S.A., January 2nd, 1953, to Teddy and Gertie Desmond, in response to a cable, discussing Christmas and a possible tour of the Far East ...We have an offer to play Singapore - Bangkok (Siam) Hongkong (sic) & Japan starting in April...Will have to do a dumb act of some kind, which too would be useful for all Foreign Countries. Might be an idea to form a pantomime troupe, headed by us, a la Karno...Love & kind thoughts from Eda & me to you all signed Stan strictly for the girls -- xx, 1p.; and another letter on Stan Laurel, IIII Franklin Avenue, Santa Monica, Calif. U.S.A. headed paper, March 31st, 1953, to the same recipients, asking after Teddy's health and discussing the proposed tour of the Far East ...The Singapore deal is off, conditions don't look so good down there & we don't want to get in the middle of anything....It looks now we will return to England again in October...Bye & God Bless., signed Stan, 1p.
