Autograph letter signed ("Thos. Lawrence") to Andrew Bloxam at Worcester College, Oxford, 2 pages, 4to, integral address leaf, Russell Square, 4 March 1823 (lightly spotted, address leaf with yellow wash).
Stating that he would be proud to consider the Provost as his future sitter. "It is true that I have been (and am still) compelled to decline many applications ... but it would be hard indeed if Regard or Obligation might not justify some acceptions, and one of them may be justly made in the present instance; both from my affection for an estimable Nephew, and that Respect so naturally due to this distinguished Member of an University from whose beneficial Indulgence I have received the second proudest honor of my professional life."
