Lot Essay

Loosely-inserted is a one-page typed letter, referring to this copy of Harry Heathcote, headed "Cabinet Office", dated 14th March 1958, from Norman Brook to A. R. Jabez-Smith, stating: "My dear Tony, The Prime Minister [i.e. Macmillan] has read your book - and enjoyed it very much. Although he is quite a Trollope fan he had not heard of it before and was delighted to have the chance of reading it."
