Born in Sweden, Nordfeldt moved to the United States in 1891, where he exhibited many of his paintings and prints in Art Society galleries. During the 1920's and 30's he lived in Sante Fe, New Mexico, painting the colourful people, life and landscapes around him. Nordfeldt later returned to the United States where he had many solo exhibitions.
