Lot Essay

After signing her first contract with 20th Century-Fox, Ekland left Stockholm to start her first film, Guns at Batasi, with Michael Caine. For publicity she was lent thick tweeds and fur coats by the studio and taken around London to be photographed. Ekland is seen posing with a Beefeeter and Horse Guard at the Tower of London and at other monuments including Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Statue of Abraham Lincoln.
