by John Moore late Handley & Moore, Clerkenwell, London, with single spring fusee motor, twelve-air barrel with tune indicator, sixteen-key action, two ranks of metal pipes and mahogany case with reeded bun feet, hinged open front and side panels and removable rear panel with gothic astragal mouldings -- 34 in. (86 cm.) high, the barrel 13 in. (33 cm.) (pipes defective)

Lot Essay

Handley and Moore (both apprentices of John Thwaites) were clockmakers, supplying movements (sometimes musical) to the trade. The present organ is clearly the work of a maker familiar with clockmaking.
