With rifled octagonal sighted barrel cut with recessed panels over half its length and signed in gold at the breech, scroll engraved case-hardened breech, long tang engraved en suite, chiselled with a dog in a landscape and carrying an adjustable peep-sight, case-hardened lock engraved and chiselled with scrollwork and a stag and a boar, each in a landscape, figured walnut half-stock (repaired at the grip) carved in relief with panels of scrollwork against a chequered ground and incorporating grotesque masks, monster- and bird-heads, each with glass eyes (some missing), the butt with cheek-piece inlaid along the edge with silver wire scrolls, carved on one side with two dogs fighting over game in a landscape, and on the other with William Tell within scrollwork, case-hardened iron mounts including scroll trigger-guard decorated en suite with the lock, butt-plate with long scrolled extensions and engraved with scrollwork incorporating the French Imperial Arms and the inscription 'J.G. Zeller beoctrooijeerd Joor Z.M. Den Keijzer Der Franschen', sling mounts, and original brass-tipped ramrod
