A wakizashi with silk bound shagreen hilt, gilt bronze fuchi-kashira decorated in relief with blossoming prunus, gilt bronze menuki modelled as tied flower sprays, pierced oval iron tsuba inset in gilt and incised with leaves, and plain black lacquer scabbard -- the blade 15 7/8in. (40.3cm) long, 17th Century.
