with the crossed key and arrow master-sign of Hans Wolfgang Zickengeist (Fl. 1704-46), containing the VII MARCS/IIII MARCS and II MARCS weight by the same master, and seven weights by master with the sign A surmounted by a crown, the master cup profusely decorated with deer, hounds and game birds, trees, neo-classical and other punched motifs, with fine incised raised bands, the underside with correction weights, the corner with hinge decorated with three grinning hounds, the two straps modelled as two mythical zoomorphic sea-beasts, the clasp modelled as two sea-lionesses, the swing handle with knopped finial supported by two mermaids clad with discreet clothing and head-bands, 8.3/8in.
