An early 19th-Century brass 4-inch reflecting telescope,
unsigned, possibly Dutch, the 24.1/2in. long body-tube with speculum primary and secondary mirrors, star finder telescope with dust slides, with screw-rod focusing, body-tube dust cap, the screw-on sprung back plate stamped on the inside with an indistinct maker's mark (x2), with two eyepieces, the body-tube raised on a geared alt-azimuth mounting, with well-shaped pillars and worm-drive screw adjusters and clamp, mounted on an octagonal-section pillar support on the tripod stand, the folding inswept legs terminating in scroll feet
