signed Troughton & Simms LONDON, No. 229, the circle supported by a cruciform frame with silvered scale, the adjustable vernier arms labelled A, B and C, with tangent-screw fine adjustment and screw clamp, with swivel magnifier arranged to read all three verniers, and fitted with balance weight, with six shades, mirrors, adjustable telescope mounting socket, the curved limb arranged for mounting on a pillar with two rosewood handles, three telescopes, two additional eyepieces, in fitted mahogany case -- 12in. (30.5cm.) wide
