signed on the base R & J BECK LTD LONDON No.21118, with rack and pinion focusing, micrometer-screw fine adjustment, prism, mechanical circuit stage with chamfered scale and vernier, sliding slide clamps, sub-stage condenser with iris diaphragm and centring screws, with rack and pinion vertical motion, the lower limb with plano-concave mirror, the body-limb with axis raised on two tapering pillar supports arranged to rotate on the base, with supplementary case of accessories including four objectives, an additional two eyepieces, forceps, tweezers, bull's-eye condenser, live-box and axis-tightening spanner, in fitted mahogany carrying case with brass swing handle, the door with shield plaque engraved with the monogram CB, the case -- 20.1/2in. (52cm.) high
