An Imari bowl with slightly everted rim, painted and gilt to the centre with a roundel depicting a Namban ship within a border of standing Dutch figures wearing tunics, hats and breeches alternating with vases of peonies and further ships on a hatch pattern ground, the exterior with roundels of Dutchmen and attendants on a ground of scattered peonies -- 10in. (25.5cm.) diam, (two gold lacquer repairs to rim.)
