The first work is the only ever printed description of the obsequies held in Florence on 16 September 1610, for Henri IV of France. After Henri's assassination on 23 May, Marie de Medici became regent for Louis XIII. The Medici saw in this an opportunity for greater international power, so Henri's death was commemorated with all due ceremony in the Medici Church of San Lorenzo. The court architect, Giulio Parigi designed all the funeral decorations, including the 26 grisaille panels narrating the life of Henry IV, which are here transmitted in Rosaccio's etchings.

The second work is a rare series of Latin inscriptions in honour of the dead king, compiled over five years by the poet, Pierre de Cornu, and the Royal Historiographer, Pierre Mathieu. The work is not in the British Library or National Union catalogues. The text is complete, but the collation erratic, as is the pagination. It appears likely that a section-title is required for the second part.
