with embossed and paper lace pages and a quantity of cards, including a Dobbs Kidd & Co paper lace card entitled My Heart's Desire, with an elaborate gilded cartouche of floral garlands, an applied romantic musical sheet, doves, flowers and a Dresden harp - 8¾in. 22cm. high, English circa 1850; A Tribute for my best beloved, an embossed cameo card by Meek with an applied Dresden cupid bearing a banner on a panel of silk; Are you engaged, an embossed paper lace card by Dobbs Kidd & Co, with hand written messages, painted tansy flowers, an applied gilded book, The Ball Room Guide, and a netted silk panel; an early humorous card, in hand coloured etching, of a girl with a mop with an articulated arm and head, paper lace borders and a verse - To see the way you flounce about when dressed on your Sunday out...to hide..that mop and pail, circa 1840; a Punch's Almanack Valentine cartoon for 1854; and cards by George Kershaw; Rimmel; Marcus Ward and others
