A large pair of Satsuma vases with mask ring handles and moulded writhing dragons on grounds of eagles, cranes, geese and chidori in flight above crayfish, carp, crabs and jelly fish among foaming waves all within borders of dragons among dense flowers and geometric motifs and shells on a scale pattern ground -- 23in. (58.5cm) high, pierced foliate gilt metal mounts. Reputedly in the collection of the late King of Portugal, Manuel II whilst in exile at his house at Fulwell Park, Twickenham. (2)
