A magnificent early 19th-Century instrument maker's brass and wrought iron model of a twin cylinder twin beam rotative beam pumping engine,
with small bore brass bound mahogany lagged cylinders with valve chest draincocks, outward facing valve chests with eccentric, quadrant and lever operated valves, the two double beams supported on two decoratively pierced 'A' frames with belt driven shaft under, barrelled connecting rods, disc cranks, centrally mounted curved spoked flywheel, belt pulley and belt drive pulley to Watt governor, linkage and valve. Additional details include brass pipework with flanged joints, main stop valve, linkage and belt, gear and eccentric driven feed pump with mahogany lagged horizontally mounted cylinder, the pipework with weight and lever safety valve and compression dome, pedestal type piston rod guide and forked connecting rod, the whole finished in original lacquer, the floor with brass plate engraved A. Collier 14 Twyford ST, Silvertown, mounted on four turned columns, original glazed mahogany case -- 11 x 15¾in. (28 x 40cm.)
