A fine and delicate early 19th Century instrument maker's brass and wrought iron model single cylinder four pillar reversing rotative beam engine,
with cylinder 5/8in. bore x 1¼in. stroke, outward facing round valve chest with separate steamways and floor mounted lever operated Stephenson's link reverse, simple parallel motion and pierced beam supported on four doric columns and one whole and two half arches, barrelled connecting rod with gibbed and cottered big and little ends, waisted crank and two brass rimmed curved ferrous metal spoked flywheels, the whole mounted on a brass framed plinth with glass panels on mahogany base and finished in polished brightwork -- 11 x 15in.
