A large Chinese painting in ink and colour on paper depicting a court scene with European and Mongolian officials and dignitaries greeting each other in a courtyard, the figures in the foreground carrying gifts and precious objects, one leading a caparisoned elephant, further officials lining the courtyard standing below covered arches, the two central posts flanked by cloud scrolls bearing a flaming pearl and sickle moon -- 40¾in. x 91in.
