Lot Essay

A similar head-and-shoulders portrait of Marconi by Muranyi and dated 1914, is in the possession of GEC-Marconi Ltd and was exhibited at the Panama-Pacific Exhibition, San Francisco in 1915. The two were probably executed at the same time, one for the Marconi company and one for Marconi personally.
