The hinged top crossbanded in rosewood opening to reveal a green-baize lined playing surface, above a deep frieze, on ring-turned column and lotus-capped hipped reeded splayed legs, stamped Gillingtons. 8558.

Gillingtons are recorded in The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Beard and Gilbert, F.H.S., Manney, 1986. A Regency brass-inlaid sofa table, bearing the stamp Gillingtons 3009 sold at Sotheby's, 12th January 1979, lot 218. A Regency sofa table sold in these rooms on 29th January 1997, lot 202, bearing the stamp Gillingtons. 7801.
