painted beneath the gilt line rim with a lilac band painted with a purple band of foliate swags enriched with gilding, a similar band with a continuous wave pattern suspending swags, reserving a central band painted with figures in a rural landscape, the saucer well painted with purple and gilt foliate rosette, painter's mark for Pierre-Joseph Rosset, gilder's mark for Guillaume Noël, painted blue 'RF' between painted 'A' and '3' and script Sèvres, (0.5cm. chip to cup rim) circa 1793
