This terracotta bas relief appears in the catalogue of the Manifattura di Signa, number 1495, circa 1870. With outlets in Florence, Rome, Turin and London, the company specialised in decorative terracotta in much the same that foundries such as Chiurazzi specialised in bronze; with a strong emphasis on pieces after the Antique.
